Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo have each become global superstars, even breaking through the fashion scene and venturing out on their own independent solo projects, but why has there not been a single note of new music from the girls as a group? Here’s what we know.
Blinks have pointed out that for a group as big as Blackpink, they have quite a small discography of only 21 songs – especially considering they debuted in 2016. And it’s been a long 18 months since Blackpink released their one and only studio album in October 2020, “The Album”, which featured the hits How You Like That and Lovesick Girls.
Instead of prioritising merchandise, money-grabbing fashion endorsements and other collaborations, fans want Blackpink to release new music – as they are music artists, first and foremost, after all.
Although fans are craving a powerful group comeback, the Blackpink members have been wrapped up focusing on individual projects. Most notably, Jisoo recently wrapped up her first K-drama, Snowdrop. While controversial for its historical plot, her on-screen presence and chemistry with co-star Jung Hae-in certainly made fans proud.
What happened at Paris Fashion Week
As Blackpink’s members each represent a different French fashion house – with Lisa working for Celine, Rosé for Saint Laurent, Jisoo for Dior and Jennie for Chanel – many fans eagerly awaited their appearances at the Paris shows.
